A damaged sewer line is no joke, and if yours decides to give way, it’s important to schedule sewer repair service as quickly as possible. In addition to the structural damage it can cause, even a slow leak in a sewer line can be disastrous if left unaddressed. Express Plumbing & Rooter is the plumbing company to call when you need help with restoring your sewer line.

Common Sewer Line Problems

  • Clogs: A clogged sewer line can result in unpleasant odors emanating from your drains or wafting outside your home. In severe cases, the blocked wastewater can back up into your drains and cause unsanitary conditions.
  • Tree root intrusion: Trees with invasive roots are one of the biggest threats to sewer lines if you don’t take preventative measures to keep them out of your pipes. Older pipes are particularly prone to tree root intrusion because they provide easy entry points for water-thirsty tree roots. If tree roots have taken hold within your sewer line, you may want to consider trenchless sewer line replacement to prevent recurring leaks.
  • Pipe corrosion: Your sewer lines may corrode if the surrounding soil is highly acidic. Other causes of sewer line corrosion include hard water, exposure to chemicals, acidic water, and poor protective coating. If your sewer lines are corroded, call a top-rated local plumbing repair service to replace them without damaging your yard.

Sewer Line Repair Techniques

  • Hydro-Jetting

This is an effective sewer line cleaning solution for particularly stubborn sewer line clogs. This method uses a high-pressure stream of water to clean the inside surfaces of sewer pipes. It should be handled by a professional plumber to avoid damage to sewer lines.

  • Pipe bursting

This is a trenchless sewer repair technique that allows you to restore failing sewer lines without destructive digging. It involves pulling a new pipe through the existing one, fracturing it outward to create space for the new pipe. A plumber uses a bursting head that is slightly larger than the new pipe to break the old pipe into pieces. Pipe bursting is recommended for replacing deteriorating sewer lines that cannot be repaired with traditional methods like pipe lining.

  • Pipe lining

Pipe lining is a non-invasive way to restore sewer lines from corrosion, leaks, or cracks from infiltrating tree roots. Also known as cured-in-place pipe lining, this method creates a durable coating or lining inside the damaged sewer line. Just like pipe bursting, cured-in-place pipe lining costs up to 50% less than replacing pipes because it requires less labor. It can be completed in a matter of days, compared to weeks for the traditional dig-and-replace method. If you’re in need of trenchless sewer line replacement in Burbank, CA, get in touch with Express Plumbing & Rooter.

Sewer Line Installation

Whether you’re constructing a new home or expanding your current living space, you’ll need to install an efficient sewer line. Hiring a professional plumbing repair service to get the job done can make the difference between a functional sewer line and a job gone wrong. Remember, you’ll need to obtain the necessary permits from the relevant local authorities before getting started.

Sewer line installation is a complex project that requires extensive expertise and experience. That means you should never attempt DIY if you’re not an expert. It’s advisable to enlist the help of a professional plumbing company offering sewer line services. Call Express Plumbing & Rooter today for all of your sewer line needs.
