Copper piping has been a staple in plumbing systems due to its enhanced durability and versatility. With a long history that dates back centuries, copper plumbing lines have proven to be reliable in transporting water and other fluids. Additionally, their corrosion-resistant properties make them ideal for commercial and residential applications, ensuring minimal maintenance without compromising longevity. At Express Plumbing & Rooter, we leverage extensive expertise and knowledge to handle different pipe materials and fix a wide range of issues. Let’s explore how copper pipes work in your plumbing system to ensure you make informed decisions moving forward.

Applications that Use Copper Pipes

As mentioned, copper pipes are commonly used in residential and commercial applications. Their excellent corrosion-resistance keeps the water safe for use. Copper is a material that can withstand extreme temperatures, making it ideal for both cold and hot water. However, take caution when using certain chemicals, as some can cause copper pipes to become unstable.

Another crucial application of copper piping is in HVAC systems for relaying refrigerant in air conditioning equipment and heat pumps. The ability of copper to handle high temperature and pressure variations makes it ideal for maintaining reliable heating and cooling performance.

Plumbers in Los Angeles and other industry experts often recommend copper pipes due to their reliable and safe nature when it comes to natural gas. This means that your building’s gas supply line is likely made from copper due to its superior resistance to extreme temperatures and fires.

The Pros of Copper Pipes in Plumbing

Now that you know the applications of copper pipes in plumbing, familiarizing yourself with the benefits can help you make the most of your investment.

Very Durable

One of the main advantages of copper piping is enhanced durability. Properly installed copper pipes can last up to 70 years, making them durable and reliable for plumbing systems. However, regular inspections and maintenance by a trusted plumbing service provider are crucial to catch small issues early before they escalate into bigger problems.

Able to Withstand Extreme Temperatures

As a property owner, dealing with frozen water pipes can be a nightmare. Fortunately, copper piping offers a great solution for frozen pipes in homes and businesses. Unlike many other piping materials, copper can withstand extreme cold and hot temperatures better. If your current system is constantly affected by these conditions, consult a professional plumber to ensure you make the necessary upgrades.

Environmentally Friendly

Older homes usually have plumbing made from hazardous materials like lead, which contaminate the environment. If you own a house built before the 2000s, installing copper plumbing pipes is an excellent way to make it environmentally friendly. Manufacturers also release fewer emissions and chemicals into the environment when making copper pipes. Even if copper piping reaches the end of its lifespan, you can recycle it as a bonus.

Lightweight

Copper is a light material, which is a helpful trait in plumbing. When undertaking major repairs or replacements, plumbers can easily handle the piping anywhere in your home. Whether you need quick repairs or emergency repiping, professional technicians can swiftly and efficiently complete these tasks so that you can resume daily activities.

A common misconception is that copper piping is unhealthy, especially for residential properties. This is false, as copper pipes are corrosion-resistant, which cannot be said for older cast-iron pipes. Furthermore, copper can last longer than most piping materials, providing lasting protection against contamination. If you have a home remodel planned or are looking to upgrade your plumbing system, consider calling Express Plumbing & Rooter for a free quote. Schedule a consultation today and enjoy exceptional copper piping installation and maintenance services.

Let me tell you folks what I went through last night after I came home from a party I walked in my bathroom and saw the bathtub and toilet overflowing with black water so I immediately went online and found a company this company was express plumbing and router the girl on the phone was really really friendly and nice she assured me that my problem will be solved and I should have no worries the technician will be arriving in 60 to 90 minutes she told me well that was true because he was here in 45 minutes  The technician came and unclog the drain for only amazing $55 when he came in to my house he was wearing booties so he said would not dirty my carpet that's a plus because I have white carpets in my house I would really recommend this company to my family and friends and whoever has a plumbing problem thank you express plumbing and rooter.
